About TD1 format for ID cards
The machine-readable zone (MRZ) of the TD1 format is used for ID-1 sizes (as a bank card) according to the ICAO DOC 9303 standard. This format consists of three lines of 30 characters each and is widely used for national ID cards, driver certificates and other identification documents.
MRZ TD1 structure
- First line (30 characters): type of document, country code, document number, control figure, additional data
- Second line (30 characters): date of birth, gender, date of expiration, citizenship, additional data, control numbers
- Third line (30 characters): surname and name of the owner
- All control numbers are calculated according to the algorithm with weight coefficients 7-3-1
